Watermelon is a delicious fruit with nutrients that improve our oral and overall health, including vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin A. Low fat yogurt is a healthy source of calcium and protein.
WATERMELON POPSICLES
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of seedless watermelon chunks
- One low fat/fat free yogurt
You’ll also need:
- Popsicle molds or a few ice trays
- Blender
Directions:
- Cut watermelon into 1-inch cubes, add to blender
- Puree the watermelon chunks and yogurt
- Run the puree through a strainer, catching any leftover seeds and fibers
- Pour the juice into popsicle mold or ice tray
- Place in freezer until frozen.
WATERMELON SLUSHIES
Ingredients:
- 1 whole, seedless watermelon
Directions:
- Cut watermelon into 1-inch cubes, add to blender
- Blend 6 cups of watermelon until smooth
- Pour into an airtight container and freeze overnight
- Allow to thaw until it reaches a slushie texture
- Scoop into cups and serve
